Brest Region is located in the south-western part of Belarus and covers an area of 32.8 thousand km². It borders Ukraine (Volyn and Rivne regions) and Poland (Lublin and Podlaskie voivodeships). Most of the territory lies within the Polesie Lowland, with a mostly flat landscape. To the north, the terrain gradually rises. In the south-west of Belarus, the growing season is the longest and summers are warmer, allowing cultivation of thermophilic crops such as walnuts, apricots, peaches, and grapes.
